USER REVIEWS
"What can i say what a great book. I was first told about this book by a girl at work she said it was great and that i should read it. I was a bit dubious as i have never been one for reading, but i got it and i don't regret it one bit.
Torey Hayden and her pupils are inspiring she writes the book in a way that grips you and pulls you right into the book.
I have since read 4 other Torey Hayden books and loved them just as much.

"This is a truly horrible book. The prose is plodding and the story very predictable. If you have read one "inspirational" novel you have read them all. The best bit were the quotes from "The Little Prince" and even they are ridden to death. If you read because you love the English language give this a miss, the language is extremely repetitive. I would never have read this on my own initiative but my reading group voted for this. "

"Her honest, warts and all attitude makes you laugh, cry and cringe. I have lent this book to a friend and have just found out it is now making its way round the teachers of the local primary school! This is one of her best books but id recommend Beautiful Child too."

"This book is one of Hayden's best. It is both touching and deeply moving with an excellent story behind it all. It is great to follow the progress of Sheila whilst in Hayden's class and we can see how this brilliant teacher manages to tame the little girl and teach her to work through her troubled background.

The story of a truly gifted child, this book will stick with you long after you've finished it. As always it will leave you with a warm feeling of contentment as Torey once again manages to successfully help another child. I read this and went straight on to 'Tiger's Child' which is the sequel- also a very good read.

I really recommend this whether you are already a Torey Hayden fan or new to her writing; this will definitely want you to investigate more of her excellent work. Be careful though because this book will get you hooked- truly fantastic."

"This is the first of Torey Hayden's books that I have read, and I was so enthralled in the book, that I had it read in 2 days!!! Sad, yet inspiring. It shows that there is hope, even when there does not seem to be. Torey shows such compassion for all the children in her classroom, and as someone training to be a counsellor, it has spurred me on to fully realise my own dreams! Thank you Torey!
