The Disease To Please: Curing the People-pleasing Syndrome

"Braiker claims here that 'people-pleasing syndrome' is extremely common in modern society. There are those who unwittingly base so much on the judgements of others that they hold themselves back from achieving their full potential. Since I completed the book, day to day living has changed at a rapid pace- particularly with regard to my marriage and in the workplace. The changes may initially feel a little uncomfortable, but it is important to remain strong when your world begins to take on a new shape. As Braiker says, the key to long-term happiness is to be 'true to yourself'. If you achieve an honest relationship with your inner-being, an authentic sense of peace will gradually evolve from within.
