ABOUT THE BOOK
"After my marriage suffered from a devastating infidelity this book was the first and only trully helpful source of facts that helped me understand adultery. It talks about the 4 types of adultery and the reasons they may occur. The book provides information on potential for repairing the marriage (ie, is your unfaithful spouse a hopeless philanderer or a lost soul that might be saved with help.) Had I not found this book I certainly would not have the understanding of what happened in my marriage that I feel I now have. It helped me to find some peace and begin the healing process. Other books I read and the counselors I talked to were not able to help in this way. I feel Dr. Pittman is a leading expert who is much more knowledgeable regarding infidelity than the average marriage counselor out there. I strongly recommend it for anyone who has a marriage that has suffered from infidelity."

"insightful, complete, and nonjudgemental, this book is one of the authoritative books on this painful and important subject. A must read."

"I do not find most of the analogies in this book relevant to anything but an attempt at humor. Furthermore, I don't find the humor appropriate at a time of marital crisis. I cannot appreciate the fact that this book centers around an affair having to be sexual intercourse in order to truly be damaging.
The text is confusing ato follow, I lose track of the names that have been appointed to the hurt partner, the unfaithful partner and the lover. I found myself skimming through most of the chapters as they were irrelevant.
I bought this book in attempt to make sense of confusing emotions and to help me get my marriage and life back on track after my husband's affair was revealed. Which, I might add, included everything BUT intercourse, and lasted for a year while I was pregnant.
This book might be remotely interesting to anyone that has never actually been devestated by an infidelity."

"This book hits right at the problems of betrayal by a spouse and identifies the reasons and the solutions for dealing with the hurt and anger left behind. Any person who has suffered the discovery that their spouse is cheating will find this book a relief and a release. The book identifies the types of cheaters and assures the abused spouse that the problem is with the cheater, not with them. It offers release from the grief and aids in develpment of a new life, with or without the cheating member."
