"Easy to use reference book with explanations of the chemistry of herbs (e.g. flavanoids, mucilages). Also descriptions of the hebal groups (e.g. hepatics, antitussives) and a detailed, materia medica with descrition of herb, uses, traditional uses, indications, contra-indications and latest research. Minor gripes: the number of herbs covered is limited, though he does cover the most commonly used and the author is perhaps too cautious in his recommendations. Much more detailed than books aimed at the lay person ~ a very useful study reference!"
