ABOUT THE BOOK
"This is an excellent book for the busy clinician. I have worked in psychiatry for 17 years and read many books on this subject. I found this excellently illustrated book an outstanding source of information to bring my prescription practice in line with recent developments. I recommend this book for all those inquisitive trainees of the MRCPsych Part II who want to correct their bases of psychopharmacology, place facts in perspective and learn what this subject is at the neuro-receptor level as well as for a busy clinician like myself who was unable to keep in touch with the recent advances in the subject due to the demanding nature of my job in Acute Psychiatry. This book is very easy to revise before any exam and to refresh ones knowledge within a few hours. The best book in psychopharmacology I have ever come accross throughout my career.I congratulate Professor Stahl for his ingenious effort to simplify this subject.I wish other authors would follow this example to simplify this vast subject. For consultants and trainees, this is a valuable gift."

"This book is a "must have" in the library of anyone who studies psychopharmacology. It contains a broad spectrum of subjects in the field in a very simple language and at the same time brings up-to-date information. I found it very useful to prepare lectures for both advanced and beginner students and also as a quick-reference book to myself. The graphics are very simple, but appealing and easy to understand. I suppose the CD-ROM is very resourceful, althought I had no chance of getting through it (our library did not buy it). The first four chapters bring the basic information in a clear way and the following chapters fill these information with very objective clinical psychopharmacology. It is good for the laboratory and it is good for the clinic."
