"As a beginners manual to Ayuverdic medicine it seems a good book- but the claim for being a complete treatment on the front cover must come from the publisher's publicity department-it is rather exaggerated. Good information on yoga too. It does seem however that Mr Chopra tends to stretch his knowledge to fit every conceivable market and illness and sometimes it feels that he is not going into as much detail as he could with a little more time spent researching.

Overall, worth a read although not too much on specialist IBD illnesses if that's what you are interested in."

Among the topics covered are the relationship between emotions and intestinal functions, biological rhythms and neuromuscular integration, and the importance of diet. There is extensive discussion of IBS and natural therapy. As for IBD, he suggests this alternative approach as maintenance after "flareups" to help alleviate symptoms."
