In this book she takes you through all of the basic concepts of Chinese Medicine: Yin & Yang, the 5 Elements, Qi, the Meridians, the causes of disease etc, whilst illustrating them with quotes from her own patient's experiences. This is what makes the book so digestible: her art at making such a complex subject simple and comprehensible in combination with illustrating Chinese Medical theory with patient's experiences; thus bringing it alive. This book is a must for anybody interested in acupuncture and would like to know more: from its theory, to what a consultation and treatment entails, and the most obvious and natural question 'Does it hurt?'. It is also a good handbook for practitioners who wish to be more fluent in their explanations of Chinese Medicine to their patients. This book was given to me as a present before I became a student of acupuncture. It helped me as a layperson, and now as a practitioner I find it a good source to draw on to remain coherent to my patients."
