"I found this book to be easy to read, well laid-out and the technical information to be well written and not all dry. The principles of herbal medicine,complementary medicine, clinical nutrition and drug interactions are discussed, as are quality and safety issues, with information about recommended daily intakes and a comprehensive list of interactions provided. A particularly useful feature is the use of “cautionary” icons to warn of potential problems, especially in pregnancy. A novel feature is the authors’ approach of providing answers to patients’ frequently asked questions such as 'what will this do for me?' 'are there any safety issues I should be aware of? and 'when will it start to work?", Clinical and historical sections provide further background information.
I think this guide is excellent value for money — it’s a concise, authoritative and, I believe, reliable reference, which health care providers and students, as well as consumers, would find useful. Acknowledging the rapidly growing body of evidence, further editions are promised that will encompass new research"
