ABOUT THE BOOK

EDITORIAL REVIEW
Easy, nutritious meals for all the family. Jamie Oliver brought the sorry state of Britain's school dinners to everyone's attention. Patrick Holford goes one step further and proves the link between children's nutrition and their mental health. His Food for the Brain campaign is being implemented in primary schools in order to radically improve the diet of children and record the results. This full-colour cookbook based on the campaign is aimed at parents with young children. It contains 100 simple, tasty dishes which will appeal to the whole family. Each recipe is carefully designed to provide optimum nourishment to aid with mental development, behaviour and academic performance. Smart Food for Smart Kids also contains menu plans and practical advice on planning, shopping, eating out and dealing with fussy eaters.
USER REVIEWS
"This was an excellent cook book, very easy to follow recipes. The food was what my children actually ate or were prepared to try.
Presentation was attractive and very clear.
Nutritionally the food was the best, but did not look boring or too different.

"If you feed your kids complete rubbish, both lacking in essential nutrients and crammed full of sugar and saturated fat, their behaviour and performance will suffer in a very real and measurable way. That is not really surprising. With the onslaught of marketing propaganda for convenient and deceptively unhealthy foods designed for children, it is sometimes hard to know where to start. This book gives parents genuinely useful tips and I found it surprisingly easy to follow. All this would mean nothing without results so I will simply say that my kids are happier, better behaved and doing better at School."

"This book provides an extensive recipe repertoire for health conscious mothers wanting to provide economical, nutritious but yummy meals and snacks for their kids. The recipes are easy, quick and foolproof. Ideal everyday recipes for adults too.

An excellent present and a mouth-watering read!"

"What a brilliant concept. I got this to try to deal with my hyper active nephew who is uncontrollable after a mars bar! We had great fun in the kitchen together, and as we worked harder to keep to the principles and recipes in the book, he became significantly more controllable. A really worthwhile book for all those with kids"
