ABOUT THE BOOK
"IMO this book is what a lot of people need. If you strip away the "turn vegan" arguments then what you get is two women who want to share their way of staying slim and healthy, and really what counts is their no-nonsense attitude. If you don't like it, go on Atkins or something because they've chosen to share their own way and they're not forcing it on anyone.
Although you may not agree with being vegan, all of their points are backed up by research and their sources are listed in the back of the book.
Since going vegan I've never felt better. I honestly never get food cravings anymore and find food in general easy to resist when I'm not hungry!
And to boot, the weight is dropping off...

"People who bought this book expecting to read a no nonsense approach to sensible eating have every right to feel disappointed. Had the authors paid more attention to the health disadvantages of eating animal derivatives, most readers would not have felt deceived. I personally feel there are no benefits to eating meat or anything derived from it but I don't agree people should be steam rolled into becoming vegans. Most people are aware of the controversy surrounding the treatment of farm animals and still eat meat. The book should have stuck solely to educating people about the risk to health and should have explained in more detail how eating meat also contributes to obesity.
I felt the book started off well but then veered off into slightly dangerous territory. The cover is misleading and does not give any real insight into what the reader is really purchasing. I felt the authors failed to follow their own, very wise advice.. "be careful not to preach"!"

"As some of the other reviewers have pointed out, this book is nothing more than a vegan propaganda pamphlet, full of dire warnings and scare stories, with some VERY graphic descriptions of what happens inside an abattoir. They have carefully chosen the sources they quote to show only one side of the argument. Also, even if you wanted to buy them, very few, if any, of the recommended products can be bought in the U.K. There are much better weight loss books than this. Don't waste your money."

"This book has made me realise why i was vegan all those years ago. It has refreshed my opinions and restored my values. It is full of fantastic information and facts (however being UK based - still very interesting!) -and basic info that we simply dont realise. The only thing I dislike about the book is that it tries to grab attention by using slang and bad language - which i feel lowers the tone and intellect of the book. Fab book, totally recommend!!"

"The writer's tone may not be for everyone but it certainly woke me out of my weight dilemma. Having tried just about every diet there is I felt really hopeless.
I have now lost 2 1/2 stone in 3 months with what have felt like minor changes to my life.
The book promotes a vegan lifestyle along with cutting out refined white bread, sugar and chemicals. It sounds like an impossible diet to follow, but I eat burgers, ice cream & pizza in normal sized portions on this "diet". There is so much variety in a vegan diet it is amazing.
Read this book and it will change your life.
