"This book didn't really go into the detail that I would expect from a magazine as famed and comprehensive as Nylon. I found it to be structured like a mini-guide for anyone trying to adopt an attractive image. It touches lightly on certain stars who personified the look of an era and discusses some hair and make-up styles/methods.
I guess I was hoping for a book that really explored *why* certain looks, universal or unique, were considered beautiful. I enjoyed the read, but unfortunately the book doesn't delve very far into its subject matter."

"Interesting book for those interested in make-up. Has brilliant illustrations in the recommended products sections, as well as lengthy notes and details on film stars and style icons form the last century or so. Inspirational photography and clear, magazine-style layouts. Good for bookshelves or tables, a nice book to lend to friends and to give recommendations from. The perfume section is especially good, as well as the classic products. Definitely buy for a tenner or so! "

"omg this book is gorgeous! it starts with a section on musthaves (touche eclat, and so forth)-the pictures are beautiful and the writting is funny, true and youthful. the other sections are idols, hair, makeup charts and perfumes. i just felt thhis book was exciting, inspiring and fresh. perfect for the young people. and the perfect accompanyment with bay garnetts Cheap Date Style book.... now where are my false lashes and neon shadow??"
