ABOUT THE BOOK
"Dr Berglas displays a thorough knowledge of why baby boomers are suffering burnout these days. The initial part of the book deals with the true psychological sources of burnout, while the second part highlights some strategies to avoid/minimise its effects.
While the content is very strong, there are two areas where I wished this book had been better; firstly, it uses medical writing style ( i.e. full of references and documentation on points that could have been much stronger by providing real life examples ) and very many times the flow of ideas is far from optimal ( e.g. the main idea of a whole chapter is lost in one single sentence in the middle of a paragraph ). Secondly, lacks a clear articulation of what to do next.
In summary, strong book that deserves being read, but be prepared to read it twice if you want to extract its substance. Final words, if you are really burned out and you are considering changing careers, the best book I have been able to find is Herminia Ibarra's ( you may want to check her article on HBR first ). Hope you find this information useful"
