"If you're studying medicine, this book serves as a very good guide through biochemistry, since it is relatively compact (I was able to read it in 2 weeks, having had no previous biochemistry before) and it tells you what you need to know if you're studying medicine and it keeps you awake with little interesting bits of information. However, if biochemistry interests you a lot and you have plenty of time, you might want to buy some more detailed works, such as "Textbook of Biochemistry" by T.M. Devlin. Keep in mind though, "Principles of Medical Biochemistry" is little over 700 pages while "Textbook of Biochemistry" is about 1400 pages. This book however totally did the trick for me and I flew through biochemistry in my first semester of medical school. 5 stars of 5 available."
