ABOUT THE BOOK
This manual is designed to help survivors of child sexual abuse. It updates the first edition, and investigates all the effects of child sexual abuse, which often persist into adult life - guilt and shame, depression and anxiety, eating disorders, fear of relationships and sexual problems. It includes discussion of false memory syndrome and female abusers, and draws on accounts of survivors who want their voices to be heard, offering a positive and optimistic approach to help survivors break free from the past.
"Easy to read and simple to understand. it made me realise i am not alone as it HAS affected my adult life. a total eye opener to the root of my problems. big thank u to the authors! i am now much much happier and feel free xx"

"This is the only book I've bought on this subject so I can't offer a comparison; what I can say is that it has been a revelation. It's a fairly substantial paperback but written in the style of an informal textbook so it's easy to find the most relevant parts. It's filled with unadorned information, often in the form of lists, pulls no punches and offers useful insight and advice. Every few pages I found myself wondering if it had been written just for me.
I found the comments in the book from other survivors seemed oddly positive and optimistic at first reading but after finishing the book I found myself looking at them differently. It will be a while before I'm sure but this may be the one book I can truthfully say has changed my life."

"Many books on this difficult subject are considerably depressing (as the subject is) but often, instead of helping one out of doom & gloom, could almost spiral them downwards. This very easy-to-read book not only explains, but guides, and focuses on the positives. The life after!!! In fact, it is super-positive in explaining and exploring and gives more than hope, it gives a good grip on reality about how positive change can come about. Enhance your life and understand it, don't see yourself as a victim, grab this book."

"I also read "Breaking Free" and "Nightmares Echo" and have to agree one hundred percent...both books will change your perception of life if you were not abused and if you were abuse....will change your way of life for the better. Excellent books!"
