ABOUT THE BOOK

EDITORIAL REVIEW
A simple guide for the beginning shiatsu student.
I can recall the very first shiatsu class that I attended over twenty-five years ago, and how difficult it was to remember all the different steps and procedures. "Beginners Guide to Shiatsu" was originally written to benefit students who had attended my classes. It is a simple guide to remind students about the techniques and the step-by-step procedure to complete a treatment. There is even a brief mention of Chinese medical basics and diet. I especially like the Chinese translated names for some of the acupoints used in shiatsu. For more indepth explanations and photographs for each step, you should read "The Shiatsu Handbook" and "Barefoot Shiatsu" which I co-authored with shiatsu master Shizuko Yamamoto.
USER REVIEWS
"This book could have been more in-depth with written description. It is also geared more to the masseuse standing and the receiver sitting. I was looking for a typical massage setting, where the masseuse stands and the receiver is lying on a massage table. Illustrations clear and gave additional instruction."
