ABOUT THE BOOK
"I would like to add a P.S. to my review. When Dr. Ingram said not all Oregano is effective, he should have clarified that. It is true that the grocery store oregano is not valid for anything, because the herb has been radiated for long shelf life. I would venture to say, that only organic herbs, whether oregano or other herbs, maintain their effectiveness. Dr. Ingram does not say if his hearbs are organic."

"I have read the reviews of the three listed by your readers. I became leary after reading the last one, so I did some research on the Herb Oregano. Dr. Ingram's information on the herb is accurate, with the exception of three of his statements. 1. His oregano being the only curing Oregano. I think he owns that N. Am. Herb & Spice Co. 2. I went to ten different Herb books and found Oregano as named in two books. I found it under Wild Marjoram, Mexican Wild Sage, and in an American Indian Herb book under Horsemint. All of these are in the same Genus/Species, meaning that they bare the similar oils with the similar medicinal effects. 3.The other erroneous statement is that, the more than 40 plants in four botanical families, does not confuse which one is medicinal, as they all are effective. By the way, Wild Marjoram was called "joy of the mountain", by the Greeks, which means Oregano and Marjoram are basically the same and have healing properties. Therefore, I feel the herb is well worth a try in natural healing. I'm certainly going to try it for four to six weeks for results. Dr. Ingram's book is basically accurate on the information with the exception of the above mentioned. He would have been more believable to the total population had he not claimed his oregano was the only healing oregano. He could have still plugged his product with a little more sincereity. Still he has put into one book the infomation on Oregano that I found in four other herbal books."

"I purchased this book per my sister's recommendation that oil of oregano or oregano would help detox my system. The day I purchased the book my husband came down with a serious infection (on Saturday of course!). After following the instructions he had relief within hours, as I did also. The book is written like an engineering paper - intro, detail, conclusion. It is easy to read and understand, with enough detail, facts, and substantiation to be effective in winning you over to at least try the healing properties of oregano. Try the book!"

"There is a company (I believe it is the Great American Health Food Co.) that has an Infomercial on local radio at 6 am Saturdays. They try real hard to disguise the show as a real health show, with 'guests', interviews, and fake callers that repeat the 800# (to make sure they wrote it down right). And they use a lot of scare tactics to make people believe they have to have their products, like that we all have fungus in our blood, or everyone is not getting enough nutrition. I tried one of their very expensive products once and was not impressed, but more important I'm concerned that some of the things they sell aren't approved by the government and could be damaging to one's health. Anyways, I had heard on this Infomercial this morning about this book and also they were selling Oregano drops and pills at their 800#. I knew the pills & drops were from this company, but I wanted to see if the book was real, so looked it up. I might have actually purchased it, except that I read in the review that the book states that one can only purchase the Oregano at a special 800#. So this confirms my belief that not only the Infomercial but also this book, is an attempt by this company to deceive customers and try to make their products legitimate. If the products were really good, they would sell without such deception and I find the whole scare tactics and deception process, this company does, disgusting."

"After searching for this book for over a month I finally received my copy and set out to study all about the Oregano in my cupboard. Much to my surprise before even finishing the introduction Dr. Igram disclaimed the whole title with a statement the Oregano that we can purchase at the grogery or health food store was not acceptable. "In other words , whatever the supermarket has on its shelves or whatever the health food purveyor might provide, it isn't medical grade oregano: period. Such products will not and cannot exhibit the curative effects described in this book." Mr Igram then goes on to promote a obscure company as the sole source for the oregano that works. If you decide to call the 800 number listed be prepared to shell out around a hundred dollars. Overall the book could have been a lot of fun and quite a help for home remidies. The only problem is I don't know and he didn't tell me what this stuff in my cupboard should be."
