"I appreciated the straight-forward dietary advice in this book - pretty much the only resource in book form I've found for feeding my dog a regular-food diet. The author doesn't spend time on soapbox diatribes against packaged pet food, or trying to convert readers to a philosophical viewpoint. She simply dispenses intelligent, easy-to-follow advice for feeding your pets a diet of raw meaty bones, meat and vegetables.

Diet plans are clearly explained and arranged according to species (dog or cat) and your pet's weight, with ratios of how much to feed your pet, how often to feed and suggested monthly menu plans for variety. There's also excellent info on dietary supplements and meal additions if needed, as well as good advice on treats and troubleshooting health problems that can be relieved or solved with simple diet changes.

It should be noted that this is a US book so the measurements are not metric, but they're easily convertible.

My dog is thriving on this plan, my pet food bills are amazingly low and it's so much more convenient than opening cans and packages. But the best result is how happy, healthy and beautiful my dog has become since starting the food plan a few months ago. I'm so glad I discovered this book."
