ABOUT THE BOOK
Discussing the role of "props" in the Pilates workout program, the author of Pilates For Dummies shows reader how to incorporate exercise balls, mats, and foam rollers into the traditional Pilates workout, thereby enhancing the experience. Original.
"This book is excellent , it's probably my favorite pilates book I have. There's tons of exercises for the foam roller , elastic band, magic circle/small ball and a few exercises with a pinkie ball and even one exercise with a towel. The book is very comfortable to use because of its lay flat binding and the writing is concise and easy to follow along with the pictures.
There's also a "suggested workouts" chapter with programs for specific body parts(like :knee ,foot & ankle ,lower back) to help you rehabilitate in case you have injuries and want to strengthen those parts also there are full body programs for every prop and one multiprop workout using all the props together for a challenging and varied workout ,the programs are laid out as charts with small pictures so it's really easy to follow.
This book is the only extensive source I know for integrating props in Pilates , so it's worth buying."

"This book is in the same eay to use lay-flat format of Ellie Herman's other book "Pilates workbook on the ball", and is a great complement to both hers and other Pilates exercise books. In this book, Ellie focusses specifically on exercises using a wide variety of props such as resistance bands, foam rollers and the pilates magic circle/small ball. This is a fantastic companion and extension to the traditional pilates matwork and is an invaluable guide to using these accessories. The excerises are well laid out in sections focussing on the use of a particular prop, with clear pictures and instructions. There is a variety of exercises for targetting different muscles as well as stretching and rehabilitation. The sections on each prop are broken down with exercises in series such as shoulder series, stomach series, rolling series, sidelying, standing etc so you can find exercises for specific body parts using the specified piece of equipment. I found this a really good way of organising the book and made it easy to use. Overall, this book is a great addition to add variety, interest and new challenges to your pilates repertoire."
