"This book is nice to look at and quite interesting, but I believed from the synopsis etc that I would be able to make creams, shampoos etc from scratch, instead the book just tells you how to add oils to base shampoos etc. Some nice traditional hair rinses etc, but really you can get more information from the internet. It would make a nice present for someone who just wanted to mess about making a few home made adjustments but if you are serious about wanting to make your own organic cosmetics then look elsewhere."

"I bought this book so that I could make my own shampoos and other toiletries, since I am choosing not to use products containing the toxic ingredient sodium lauryl sulphate. I was a little bit shocked that it doesn't actually tell you how to make them (the majority of recipes are to add essential oils to 'bought bases' for moisturisers,cleansers,bubblebaths, shampoos and conditioners).

Luckily there are some 'from basics' recipes in it (mainly for soaps), so I will make these and then hopefully source a book that will answer my needs!"
