ABOUT THE BOOK
"This book is an absolute must for any student of homeopathy. It is not designed for the novice user looking for first aid remedies. You will want his next book for family prescribing - "The Practical Handbook of Homeopathy", or Lockie's book on family prescribing. For a serious student of homeopathy I think the "Companion" is unsurpassed. Griffith explains the miasms in detail with numerous examples of characters from history who epitomise the miasms. It may not be on your reading list, but I wouldn't be without it! On the other hand, if you just want a book to prescribe for acutes, get the other one - better still get them both! If you're seriously adventurous and qualfied then get his new book "The New Materia Medica" - it's fab - but not aimed at Jo Public."

"Title may be misleading. The book is a "compare and contrast" with traditional medicine. I was disappointed about the book because it was not what I was looking for in the sense that it is not a reference book. I think the author is a little bit long winded sometimes and when he gets to the point the conclusion is a little superficial. The structure of the book is similar to that of a novel, it is not a practical guide easy to consult if you are looking for a quick answer, therefore I think it is misleading to call it "The Practitioner's Guide"."

"As a complete novice to homeopathy I was somewhat daunted by the size of this book when recommended by my own homeopath. What a compelling read! I couldn't put it down as it got more and more interesting. Each section is clearly and expressively written and illustrated with fascinating case studies from the author's extensive career. I learnt more than I ever anticipated about homeopathy and the different 'miasms' but also the effects of antibiotics, diet, the contraceptive pill and allopathic medicine.
A fantastic book for those with a passing (or even more than a passing) interest in homeopathy and general health."
