Working with Anger and Young People

"This is a very good book from Nick Luxmore. Anger and rage are lurking within most young men and it affects everyone around them - from family to workmates to golf partners. I have a younger brother who can get pretty worked up over a fluffed nine iron and it's not pleasant. Luxmore has some interesting comment on this form of frustration, but basically it's petulance - easily diagnosed by studying the way he curses and throws his club, before flouncing off to the car park. Of course, it's not only younger men who are affected by rage. I have to say that last week I was more than mildly alarmed by the behaviour of a middle-aged AA man. I'd called him out to see if he could re-tune my car radio and he got worked up big style. His language was, quite frankly, choice and unbecoming an officer of the AA. Furthermore, despite my grade 300 membership he was determined to tell me where to stick my radio in no uncertain terms. Thankfully central locking saved me on that particular occasion but it shows the dangers of rage for the innocent bystander. "
