ABOUT THE BOOK
"Reading the first edition of this book changed my entire relationship and understanding of myself - my moods, energy levels, my self-esteem and many behaviours made sense and became things I could work with and improve/heal in a tangible way. Before this I had tried many diets/nutrition/self help books with limited or short lived on-off success.
I discovered the first edition of PNP in 2003, and started to read it without expectation, yet as I read the first few pages it was like a light went on for me.
What's lovely is that now six year's later this light is still on, and the delight and rewards of grow and grow for me. It's like I get to be more of myself each day.

"this is the best book and the very best advice you will ever read if you are struggling to lose weight and even worse struggling to face the day, follow every step and you will never look back. This book saved my life!"

"I bought the first edition of Potatoes not Prozac back in 1999. I'd been struggling with bouts of depression, bingeing, mood swings and generally feeling grotty since I was a teenager. I can honestly say that finding this book was the start of a whole new life for me. Not only do I no longer binge, I don't even have to fight cravings, they've disappeared like magic thanks to following the steps in Dr DesMaison's plan. My mood is also much better and I have more energy and feel much healthier physically.
I was scared that my eating was going to kill me, if my depression didn't get me first. Now I look forward to the future with excitement and hope.
All this from a book! Yes really! I can't recommend it more highly. And this new edition has been totally updated and rewritten, I'd recommend buying it even if you already have the older version."

"I was given a copy of the first edition of Potatoes Not Prozac last summer and it began a journey that has already taken me further than I could have imagined. This new edition has many more stories in it of people like me who have found healing from a lifetime of binge/dieting cycles, lethargy and depression. And it all begins with breakfast....
The book outlines clearly and simply each small step to take towards healing all that comes with sugar addiction. Dr Desmaisons writes with understanding and compassion and has organised an internet forum for all those working the steps. This connection goes beyond anything offered by any other 'diet' program and is available to all - for free.
An amazing program that anyone can follow."

"This book offers ground breaking advice for dealing with depression. Kathleen Des Maisons talks us through the background of the brain chemistry which sets us up for depression. She then thoroughly explains her 7 step eating plan, designed to heal the underlying causes of depression, food cravings and weight gain. The book is well written, and contains many testimonials from people doing the programme in the UK and Europe. The food programme is inexpensive and all natural, and there is online support through the radiantrecovery website.
If you have tried everything else to no avail, you will be pleasantly surprised that this may well be the last book you ever need concerning this issue. What a relief to stop searching and finally find the answers we need.
If you are ready to join the growing number of people who are experiencing freedom from depression, this book will help you achieve that goal.
