ABOUT THE BOOK

USER REVIEWS
"This book is a Godsend, it is written in a no nonsense way, as was observed in a previous review.

My daughter has battled with Dyspraxia since the day she was born, in the early stages we simply didn't know what the problem was, in fact it is only latterly that we found out. To a degree she has been ostracised because of the condition, other children do not understand that she has to work twice as hard as them to achieve half of what they do. Despite this she has a sunny personality that shines through.

When I read chapter 5 'Research Evidence' I couldn't put this book down, here was an answer to a problem I'd been striving to find. I immediately contacted my daughter's school and asked if they would be willing to try something similar. My daughter attends a small rural school in Devon, no backwater, for the staff in her school are highly motivated and immediately agreed to a pilot scheme during every lunch hour, to help my daughter and any children like her, using older children as mentors to help them understand the difficulties children like my daughter face daily. The pilot starts this week, who'd have thought simply reading a book would lead to this? Hat's off to East Worlington School, The Head and her staff! I only use a pen name to protect my daughter's identity, amazing book! well worth the read!

"What a wonderful insight into this handicap, I work with young children and found this to be extremely interesting. It helped me to realize how difficult simple tasks must be for these children. It was very useful to help identify children who we thought had a problem, and useful ideas on how to help them. An excellent book for anyone who works with children."
