USER REVIEWS
"This book covers almost everything from applying make-up to safe tanning and getting rid of stress. Product reviews by independent panels of women who have actually used the products for a specific period of time are very informative. Information about natural and organic products is included for those who are concerned about the safety of beauty products (and food!) in general. There's also a "daisy" rating indicating which products contain significant levels of natural ingredients. Sarah and Jo understand it's your choice whether you care about the naturalness of beauty products, but if you don't want to hear any "green talk", they might get on your nerves a little.

A good all-rounder, I've owned a copy since it was launched and have referred to it so many times. Definitely worth a buy. "

"I decided to purchase this book after being heavily disappointed with the handbag version. It is good but.... i just feel there seems to be a lot missing. for example, there are no reviews or advice on deoderants. Variety in products seems to be lacking.... i.e I don't think they give enough products for one section. Especially on foundations and moisturisers. It does however give you many tips and advice. It is also gives you information on certain ingredients to look out for and what to avoid. If you would like a condensed version of this 'beauty scoop' is the book for you. "

"I honestly don't know how I managed without this book as it truly is the bible to consult every time you make a beauty buy. Even a casual shopping visit to the Selfridges beauty department, or any Space NK can be incredibly pricey, especially if you get distracted by the latest kitsch/minimalist packaging or ambushed by a fast-talking sales assistant. This book is therefore a great investment and will, in the long run, save you a LOT of money, as it gives you all the up-to-date info on each product and enables you to compare and contrast it with similar brands. You can find out what ingredients the product contains, and how natural it is, and how it has fared with a whole range of testers so you quickly get a pretty good idea whether it's worth trying it out. All the products I have tried at the authors' recommendations have become indispensable to me, and I am eternally grateful to them for introducing me to the Liz Earle range, which is fantastic...so this book is, in a nutshell, highly recommended! "i have given this book 5 stars. A fabulous book for all those of us who are beauty product mad. I have found it to be a great informative reference when looking for cosmetics and skin care products. I have purchased the 2004 edition and now this one the 2006 edition. I would say that if you have the earlier edition you may find that the new 2006 edition is not a lot different, with most of the pages being identical and it seemed that only a few extra items have been added. Altogether the book is a great buy, but you only need one edition, so if you already have the 2004 edition don't waste your money buying the new 2006 one. "

"The beauty bible is extremely informative. It contains specific information about products with marks out of 10 and comments from women who have tried them, along with more general information on make up, skin care, hair care, stress management and healthy living.
I was so looking forward to my new, updated version of this old favourite. The new edition is extremely disappointing. It looks exactly the same as the old edition. All the general information (even the foreword by the authors) is exactly the same. I searched hard and found a very few differences in the tried and tested products pages, however not enough for me not to feel cheated."
