ABOUT THE BOOK
"I was amazed at how much was packed into this book. It is very informative, interesting and, for a book that could have been technical and difficult, I found it light, beautiful and very accessible. Each section is distinct, so you can dip into it again and again to read about particular aspects of Tibetan Medicine. The essential points of the Tibetan Medical system that Western readers will be familiar with, such as Pulse & Urine Diagnosis and the Three Constitutional Types are succinctly and clearly explained. In addition, however, there are well written pieces on Moxibustion, Precious Pills and especially, Tibetan Pyschiatry. What I found particularly interesting is how the author has married this ancient healing art with a Western scientific understanding of medicine, establishing it firmly in the 21st century. Personally, I feel this book is long overdue. It is packed with beautiful sacred paintings and pictures of Tibetan Medicine and culture. Also there are diet and rejuvination home programmes that the reader can follow. "
