ABOUT THE BOOK
"This has to be one of the best books on Reiki that I have read. Everything is explained clearly - from the history of Reiki through the hand positions, symbols, developing your own Reiki practice to becoming a Reiki Master. Excellent all round book. "

"It is so refreshing to read a book about Reiki that includes quality history of Mikao Usui and his healing path. As a Reiki master I completely agree with keeping the symbols secret, as, used lightly or without training, they could so easily open someone to the higher realms with inadequate training to cope with the result.
Reiki takes commitment to and love of healing others and chapter 12 is a useful guide for would-be Reiki masters.
I found the appendix a bit long and, although it is in part a sales pitch, the author's website is certainly worth a look as it helps put his writing in perspective. This is a useful book that avoids the modern tendency to indulge in scaremongering; it is, nonetheless a good idea to read widely on the subject and I would not recommend any book as the only one a Reiki master should use."

"Wow, I have to wonder if I read the same book as the other reviewers. This book includes an illustrated section on hand placements for self treatment and treatment of others. The history section offers some insight into the reliability of known information on Reiki and the Grand Masters. The book also explains why you need to be attuned and why the symbols are kept sacred (or should be). This book has a lot of wonderful information and I would suggest all Reiki practicioners read it."

"I don't think William wrote this book to advertise his Reiki Centre. In the opposite I think he wrote this book with the loving intention to benefit those who would like to know more about Reiki. I read this book as a supplement to my Reiki I & II training. It served that purpose. The hand-position illustration and symbol section were great. Besides William lead us to think ahead of how we gonna do with Reiki which I think is very inspiring. The information in the appendices are very useful. I highly recommend this book to all Reiki practitioners and those who are interested in Reiki."

"I am just learning the healing arts and if, as the author states, you need to be attuned with the Reiki energy before you can heal with it, what is the sense of reading a book about it? If you are attuned then presumabley you have attended classes in Reiki, in which case the book should not be teaching you much, it would just be used as a reference. Also, the author does not share the symbols used in Reiki healing, instead suggests, if you want to compare the symbols you were provided in your training to the ones he has, you should send him mail with a photocopy of your certificate of completion. If you want to LEARN Reiki try any of the other books offered...I am now going to focus on Pranic healing which you don't need to be attuned to, it utilizes the Life Breath within us all. BB, M"
