Reiki and Other Rays of Touch Healing

"Having taken Tera Mai Reiki classes I was interested in its history and the book gives you a good insight into its founder - Kathleen Milner - with some interesting stories. It does meander into different areas such as feng shui, which provides more background to the author. If you are looking for a book on Reiki then I wouldn't buy this one - I found The Reiki Sourcebook very good - but if you want to find out more about Tera Mai, then this is a good read."

"This is a strange book, undoubtedly sincere but full of dis-jointed ideas, strange assumptions and an un-critical acceptance of the authors psychic perceptions and experiences. The chapter on animal healing contains a few nuggets of useful information that I have not seen elsewhere but still not enough to justify buying the book. With so many good Reiki books in print it would be hard to recommend that anyone spend their money on this particular one. If you have only a limited amount to spend on Reiki books then Hands of Light by Barbara Brennan is a good choice, Essential Reiki is another and anything by Paula Horan is also money well spent . The books by Frank Arjava Petter are worth looking at too..."

"The book goes into many different areas besides Reiki. Some of the reviews I have read say negative things about it, that's their choice. An old saying that I feel is appropriate to repeat here is "Don't go on what other people say look and see for yourself" let yourself be the judge of how valuable the information is for you.

I feel that the information contained within has been very useful, To me it was like reading a conversation, like Kathleen Milner was actually holding a conversation near me and I was listening in. It is a refreshing approach to the subject of Reiki and the 'Other Rays of Touch Healing' (Sakara, Sophiel, Angelic Light) information was facinating. For anyone looking for a fresh look at the Reiki system I would say "Buy it!". The techniques described within are very powerful in my experiance and work quickly to help the healee.

I would say to you buy it and see for yourself, and see some of the power of the Tera Mai system for yourself."

"This is arguably one of the worst Reiki books to be written. The author digresses endlessly into subjects that have no connection to Reiki and of which she has either no understanding or a very distorted viewpoint by any normal standard. An example of this is her rambling discussion about "The Greys" - apparently a race of malicious space aliens whose skin is coloured grey because their heart chakras are closed through aeons spent in the persuit of evil. If you enjoy throwing your money away and reading paranoid new age clap trap this could just be the book for you, on the other hand if you want to read about Usui Reiki just buy anything by Frank Arjava Petter."

"For those who are looking for "new" information on Reiki, particularly about Tera Mai, this is a really good book.

However, I found that Kathleen digressed in places (like, up to half the book) and started writing about much that seemed out of context and odd. I would have preferred to have those bits left out (you'll know them when you see them) and more on Reiki included instead."
