ABOUT THE BOOK
"NLP offers a range of tools for removing limiting beliefs, but no means of identifying the key beliefs to tackle first. GOLD Counselling fills that gap wonderfully by providing an elegant and straightforward means of mapping a client’s beliefs. The authors’ method is superbly easy and remarkably powerful. Once identified, the authors use regression to address the limiting beliefs. NLP and timeline tools would also be useful here.
I strongly recommend this book to all NLP Practitioners, hypnotherapists and, in fact, anyone working in therapy, counselling or coaching. The method is beautifully simple and yet so powerful. It really is a revelation, and, in my view, this is the most important advance in NLP and related approaches for many years. Indeed, the authors helpfully provide a whole chapter on using the GOLD method to enhance existing NLP techniques.
It is marvellous stuff. Buy it if you want to really boost the power of NLP in your work !."

"Georges Philips has devised a wholly original approach to uncovering and resolving deeply held beliefs that may be preventing a person from achieving their goals.
Section 1 of the book presents that case for how beliefs are formed. In its early years, the emergent brain finds it easy to accept things that in adulthood would be questioned and rejected. Given the right circumstances, these negative beliefs take root in the subconscious and are filed away, seemingly forgotten. In adulthood, the subconscious mind will try to obey these beliefs. The adult finds himself exhibiting particular negative behaviours while having little awareness of how these behaviours originate.
Section 2 focuses on the GOLD method for identifying, isolating and dealing with beliefs that may be creating difficulty. Georges Philips and Lyn Buncher have devised a clever mapping technique that the client performs with a counsellor’s assistance. Under a light hypnotic trance, the person can effectively be assisted to eliminate negative beliefs and restructure the resultant belief set.
As an Executive Business Coach, I have read the book and attended Georges's courses. His method makes sense, and I have seen it in action many times. And, despite the novelty of the approach, it's actually quite simple to apply.
Highly recommended!"

"In the face of Neuro-Linguistic Programming techniquey-ness, George Phillips and Lyn Buchner have thankfully and eloquently provided an accessible and profound method that offers anyone (including the expert NLP practitioner) the ability to map out core beliefs and their subsequent supporting structures. What else do you need? Written in a lucid, concise and informative stlyle, the reader is taken through the process of how beliefs are formed, the nature of beliefs, how beliefs are identified and finally, how to install new beliefs. Cutting edge material that will increase your effectiveness ten-fold as a personal development practitioner, counsellor, therapist or hypnotherapist. Try it for yourself and see the effects! Fabulous."

"Behind most human activity ranging from the most selfless acts to the most trivial impulses lies a complex set of motivations which can be loosely described as a belief structure.Beliefs can be said to represent the forces through which we are unconsciously motivated to create our reality. The results of our belief systems are evident in what we achieve. From careers, relationships, money and self fulfillment,we tend to manifest the sum total of our beliefs at any given time.Fine, if you are happy with what you have.Unfortunately, many of us have unwittingly absorbed beliefs from parents, relatives, teachers and society that neither serve us nor support us in being the best we can be. Uncovering this structure has rarely been attempted with such clarity and simplicity as in this book. Georges Phillips and Lyn Buncher have discovered a methodology of uncovering and resolving negative belief patterns that will demystify the processes by which we come to posess our beliefs. Using clear and simple language the book is an invitation to examine the factors which make up our beliefs. As such, it represents an invaluable opportunity to resolve the inner conflicts from which problems are created."
