ABOUT THE BOOK

USER REVIEWS
"I came across the older edition of this book 4 years ago, skimmed through it, tried it out and gave up within a week. Have just been introduced to it again by a friend (the latest edition) and actually find that I understand the concepts second time around and have just started again. Time will tell if I lose any weight but as for accessibility regarding its philosophy, it may not sink in first time around, but stick with it - it does fall into place eventually."

"I found this book extremly heavy going and complex to read. I found it hard going to read and you had to read between the lines to find out the basic details to be able to apply it to your own life. I also found that I ended up looking a other books and web sites to make sure that I was doing the diet properly. A bit of a was of money in the end"

"This is a diet & a lifestyle book that introduces a revolutionary way of dealing carbohydrates & fats. By cutting out all bad carbohydrates and then simply avoiding combining good carbohydrates and fats within the same meal I have managed to lose weight rapidly & without causing the kind of nutritional health problems associated with the atkins or the ridiculous expectations of low fat/calorie diets. Unlike both these types of diets, the montignac method ( as described fully in the boook) not only insures you lose weight (and lots of it) but also makes sure that weight stays off.
It is however important that you read & understand the whole book, if you dont understand the main principle then the diet may not work for you... dont skim read!!
Personally i have never felt healthier..."

"there are two phases to this diet, cunningly called phase one and phase two!! being a man i did not bother with phase one as it seemed quite restrictive so i went for phase two and only really did that in a half hearted way, yet i still lost 2 stone in 3 months !!! and i found i was eating loads of food. whats more one i had finished i found that i could eat all the wrong food for weeks without my weight bouncing back on. it kind of re-trains your body to stop it from putting everything you eat into fat. It's a bit like atkins but with carbohydrates as well, but only the good ones."

"I was introduced to this book via a friend who had the older edition. This latest edition is much clearer and easy to follow. The theory section is very useful, as are some of the appendices. I found many of the recipes pretty mad and very French but overall the diet worked for me including phase 2 and going back to phase 1 if you slip a little, although I didn't follow it very strictly I did loose 4 stone and do like to keep refering back for a boost."
