USER REVIEWS
"Okay, this book has made me look so much younger! It gives you all these amazing facial exercises that truly make you look like you have had a facelift. My eyes look like I had an eye lift, my cheekbones are higher and my lips plumper. People are shocked when I tell them how old I am, and it is truly due to Facercise. The exrcises are super quick and you see results very quickly as well. Get this book now and you will not regret it! "

"I read this book after reading "Face Lifting by Exercise" by Senta Maria Runge. I'm not impressed. The "driving" facial exercises listed are both dangerous to do while driving (placing fingers around your eyes and squinting or looking up) and really just duplicates from the previous pages (nothing new or redesigned). I also found the descriptions on how to specifically move the muscles incomplete compared to Senta Maria's book. I wouldn't recommend this book."

"Subject: FACERCISE meets Argentine tango...

Our international dance company, Dance of the Heart, places my husband and me in the spotlight as performers and instructors of the very sensual, passionate dance of Argentine tango. We teach and perform locally at our home base in Boulder, Colorado and at the many tango communities springing up in major cities across the globe, including bi-annual bookings in northern Europe and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Because it is NOT an option to combat signs of aging with surgery (philosophically OR financially), my husband introduced me to Carole Maggio's FACERCISE book years ago. With his encouragement, I researched this carefully and found myself at Carole's website where I purchased the FACERCISE programs on dvd and cd.

I recently celebrated my 48th birthday and my husband just turned 55. Friends, family and clients continue raving to both of us about our `youthful' appearances. We know this is due to the combination of FACERCISE integrated into our dance-filled lives.

Carole's innovative, practical and simple approach to isometrics for the face is delivered through her book and her dvd with easy, clear instructions, smart reminders and excellent technique that takes only minutes each day to execute.

The results are remarkable. Speaking only for myself (though I know my husband shares my feelings), I now have tremendous confidence in my appearance no matter where I am in the world; on a stage, in a classroom, out to dinner with friends, wherever, so don't wait!!!

With gratitude,

Deb Sclar (& Brian Dunn)

"I'm commenting on the facercise program (the exercises) and not necessarily the book. I did purchase it but didn't have the patience to read it (that's just me). I highly recommend purchasing the dvds instead. The visual demo vs. written explanation is much better to follow in my opinion.

I make time to facercise once a day, virtually every day, and I must say, my face looks great. Better, tighter tone, a nice glow, my jawline is tighter...it's definitely worth the 11-20 minute a day effort (beginning dvd is about 11 minutes and the advanced is the balance).

I'm in my mid 40's and I also workout vigorously, at least 5 days a week (have for years and I love it). Most people believe I'm younger than I am by about 5-10 years. I've had men in their 20's inquire as to my availability (flattering but wouldn't go there myself) and 30's + (very flattering)...

But much more important, when I'm done facercising, I feel great; energized, and it feels great to take care of and invest this time and effort towards my well-being.

I'm very happy with my results and will continue to facercise :o)

"I love Carole Maggio.
And I love this book.
I will admit that I am a human being who is already quite body aware and so I LOVED everything about the book. But if you are not body aware, Facercize can be a first step toward GAINING that awareness. I found the instructions clear and concise and the exercises easy to do. But I took the time to read the book all the way through, before starting. I studied the anatomical charts, and I made notes. The Facercize book is an excellent resource material, especially and even if you have or are considering buying the DVDs. I did buy them as well after buying the book because my daughter wanted to try the exercises and didn't feel confident doing them without visual guidance. Myself, I was curious to see whether or not I was doing them properly as well... but for the most part, I was, just from reading the book. For a thorough understanding, so that you can go deeper and get better results, read the book AND buy the DVDs. They are great together. I bought the advanced DVD too and have just started using it. I think they are all really good.

(My own personal note: check this link for more detailed pictures of the facial muscles: http://www.artnatomia.net/uk/artnatomy.html
Not Carole's site but a great resource to use with the book. I hope I am allowed to print this in her review!!)

OK so here's the other thing... Facercize is not just an exercise in vanity... I have to admit, even when I was making the purchase, I was teasing myself for being vain. (Grow up, you're getting older.... just turned 50.... get used to it) But when I started doing the exercises I started noticing how much better I was 'feeling.' All those muscles, those intricate layers of tissue, are all capable of being stimulated and of being controlled by the mind. That in itself was empowering. And then you start to see things you like in the mirror, maybe not huge things at first... but your own personal victories.... and we need those, cause let's face it... we need to LOVE AND ACCEPT OURSELVES first. This process sort of gets you to take a closer look at yourself and CHANGE what you CAN... which as it turns out, is a lot more that we had previously believed. Patience is required. But patience in the beginning paradoxically brings faster results!!!!!

I am loving the way I am starting to look now. I haven't said that in a while. But it's not a magic bullet or a quick fix. I believe (Carole doesn't say this... it's my BIAS!!! ) that learning this practice properly, requires an attitude of wanting to take responsibility. Carole has done a lot of research so that we do not have to re-invent the wheel. She has paved the way. We have to make the journey, ourselves, though.

One last thing... I love Carole Maggio. Oh yeah, I already said that. But for me she's a paradigm shifter. She (and I know, there are other good ones too, I'm not dissing them) has proven that what we have traditionally taken for granted is no longer true. This is a "how to" book about challenging and conquering a commonly held `erroneous belief"... It's a guide for us to use to prove for ourselves that we can indeed change, and have power over our circumstances. That for me is profound. Because once we have had experience with changing an erroneous belief in one part of our lives.... how many other erroneous beliefs could we discover, challenge, and overcome?

Anyway, Carole and I have never met, but I did call the 800 number before buying the DVD's because I had some questions about shipping to Canada... and SHE answered! I was not only thrilled to talk with her, but thrilled at how GREAT she was to talk to. She cares!! Buy the book. Even if you aren't concerned with what you look like, but you want to challenge yourself to learn something more about how you tick. It's great on a lot of levels.

Lastly, I applaud the inclusion of Gina G. the latter part of the book. I am a singer too, and I think that Facercise is an awesome tool for actors and singers and even dancers, for cultivating subtle body awareness. You need patience and focus when learning technique in each of these art forms. Facercize teaches you that patience. Patience with out results is just a lot of waiting around. (That's why most of us are so impatient... we want results!) So true patience works when you start with a reliable method and you take the time to first understand it, and then build a solid foundation. I think that Facercize could be a great learning tool when be used as a `model' for isolating all other type of muscles in the body. This is great for singing, dancing and acting. The obvious thing, of course, is that the facial muscles are the medium for expression, but I believe that there is an actual connection to technique, at least in singing, as well. There is research that suggests that there is a correlation between facial alertness and the inner muscles of the ears. That face ear connection can translate to improved listening ability (and attention span), mental clarity, physical energy and musicality. In experimenting with this concept I am finding it to be anecdotally accurate. Wow! I have been studying and playing around with the concept of the ear/voice connection and teaching singing for years. Now I am seeing a real ear/voice/face connection. I can really use this!!

This is just such a good practice on so many levels. Thanks Carole Maggio. You are awesome.
