ABOUT THE BOOK

EDITORIAL REVIEW
In one of the most unique memoirs of addiction ever published, Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx shares mesmerizing diary entries from the year he spiraled out of control in a haze of heroin and cocaine, presented alongside riveting commentary from people who were there at the time, and from Nikki himself.

When Mötley Crüe was at the height of its fame, there wasn't any drug Nikki Sixx wouldn't do. He spent days -- sometimes alone, sometimes with other addicts, friends, and lovers -- in a coke and heroin-fueled daze. The highs were high, and Nikki's journal entries reveal some euphoria and joy. But the lows were lower, often ending with Nikki in his closet, surrounded by drug paraphernalia and wrapped in paranoid delusions.

Here, Nikki shares those diary entries -- some poetic, some scatterbrained, some bizarre -- and reflects on that time. Joining him are Tommy Lee, Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Slash, Rick Nielsen, Bob Rock, and a host of ex-managers, ex-lovers, and more.

Brutally honest, utterly riveting, and shockingly moving, The Heroin Diaries follows Nikki during the year he plunged to rock bottom -- and his courageous decision to pick himself up and start living again.
USER REVIEWS
"One of the best books I have ever read! I have never had a drug or alcohol problem, but I have been a Nikki Sixx and Motley Crue fan for 20 years. It really does let you know how people in that situation feel and what they are thinking. Definately a must have for anyone with someone with a drug problem in their family. I couldn't put it down and ended up reading the whole thing in one sitting everything he does is more shocking than the last. ALL HAIL NIKKI SIXX!!!"

"Brilliant!Couldn't put it down.It makes you wonder how someone could be so intelligent and so stupid at the same time.My son is an addict and I wanted to get some insight into their brain and how it works so I can try to help him.Nikki Sixx is like a cat he's got 9 lives.I hope he never runs out so he can do more good things with his charities."

"I must say that this book was hard to put down. This book was so good that I finished it in 3 days. I liked the wasy Sixx put the book together. He had his diary entries and then had those involved elaborate afterwards....it was a great idea. There was some pretty wicked pictures in the book too!!"

" Like many others who read this book (I think), I read and enjoyed the Dirt very much. But first I have to say that I'm a bass player who is a Crue fan, so maybe I am bias.
This book reveals the life of Nikki's worst year (which ironically was also his most musically successful time) during which he literally killed himself with Heroin. This book told many things that I never know before. It is different from the Dirt that it's so depressive I can't stop reading it.

PS: This one and the Dirt get 5 stars from me but Tommyland is kinda lame really(The Dirt told Tommy's story better that Tommyland did for me)."
