USER REVIEWS
"The Mountaineering First Aid Guide covers various subjects about first aid when help is delayed. The book is for when you are out in the woods, mountains, destert, away from our normail EMS response we all are accustomed too. Several items are a little different than the Red Cross Course, so if you are taking the course use the Red Cross answers. This would be a very good book to have with you in your first aid kit."

"This is a great guide to the basics of first aid in the mountains, whether it is a climbing or backing situation. For a fairly short book (170 pages or so) it covers a lot. Combine this with the chapter on first aid and alpine rescue in "Mountaineering the freedom of the Hills" (same publisher) and you have about everything you need. "Medicine of the Outdoors" by Paul S. Auerbach, M.D.is more complete on many medical aspects, if you are looking for yet more information. "

"Although this book may not cover EVERY detail about back country survival, it definitely gives some good pointers whether a person is in a large group or a small one.

Mountaineering is a dangerous sport, and the tactics and procedures in this book can be applied to every day situations as well.

This is a definite must-read for anyone who is responsible for another life -- from trail guides to backpackers to parents to babysitters -- it is a must-have for every household!"
