ABOUT THE BOOK

EDITORIAL REVIEW
Living with cellulite is a devastating condition to many women. Women always ask me the following question, "Doctor, how did I get cellulite?"

This book was inspired by the questions of the numerous women I have seen over the last six years. Patients often state they have done research on the subject, but could not find answers to their questions. On a day-to-day basis I explain the cause of cellulite and how the change in their body biochemistry along with other aspects of their lives influence the formation of this condition. I believe all women should have access to this information.

The book goes into detailed exploration of this condition, which afflicts ninety-percent of women, starting with a historical perspective on cellulite. We then delve into the use of Mesotherapy, Subcision (tm) and Mesotherapy Stringcision (tm) as the only medical treatment options. A section on diet and exercise is included along with the role of women's undergarments in the formation of dimples.

This book will inform and educate women on a subject which has been ignored, or brushed aside. Women have for too long been told to "live with it" by the supposed experts. We have included before and after photographs as proof there is a cure. The book contains numerous illustrations and cartoons depicting causes and social implications of cellulite.

The Cellulite Cure is intended to be a complete guide to understanding cellulite, its causes and treatment options.
USER REVIEWS
"The Cellulite Cure by Lionel Bissoon is a well written, very informative book. However, I feel the author could have done better. The synopsis of the book is this: the cure to cellulite is through a series of injections called mesotherapy.
Before purchasing this book I have had some mesotherapy injections to remove my cellulite. It does work, but it takes time. I had three sessions done on the back of my thighs and buttocks. My legs look a little better, but my butt needs extra attention ;-)
Bissoon did offer me hope that diet and physical activity does play a significant role (the cosmetic surgeon who performed my mesotherapy said diet has no effect). Bissoon gave me new hope and I will follow his tips in the book and continue to get more mesotherapy in the future.
I am giving this book a four because overall, I thought Bissoon did a good job in that he gave very clear explanations of what is, and what causes cellulite, but I already knew that.
He has a chapter on the anti-cellulite diet, but there is no diet. He shows photos of Amazonian women from all different ages who are cellulite free. His theory is because they eat whole, natural foods-nothing processed. He gives one page in which it lists 10 cellulite prevention recommendations; they are as follows:

1. Decrease the amount of sugar and refined sugar in your diet
2. Increase your consumption of leafy green vegetables
3. Increase your consumption of fish as a source of protein
4. Consume as many cruciferous vegetables as possible
5. Eat a diet high in soy content
6. Eat as much organic food as possible
7. Decrease your consumption of red meat
8. Exercise 20-25 minutes every other day
9. Take the stairs instead of using elevators
10. Whenever possible, walk instead of driving

A downside of this book is that it offers nothing on exercise. I was hoping Bissoon would have a chapter illustrating some of the best exercises to reduce the appearance of cellulite, but there wasn't one. In conclusion, the positives of this book is it is clear, well-written, and easy to read, the photos are wonderful, and the tips are good.
the negative is he could have given specific exercises, cellulite massage tips- since lack of circulation is one of the causes of cellulite. He could have listd foods which combat cellulite (as Dr. Murad has).
I have since sold my copy of this book and am now looking for a cellulite prevention book which focuses more on diet, exercise, and circulation/stretching to reduce cellulite.
Mesotherapy does work and I do recommend it, but diet and exercise can prevent future cellulite accumulation which is what I'm more interested in learning about."

"I love to see dramatic results. And who doesn't want to get rid of their pesky cellulite, especially now that it's summer and those without it are cavorting about. In the Cellulite Cure you see those incredible results from people who had little hope of wearing shorts or even letting their legs be SEEN in public. What I like about it is it's a no nonsense tour of the history of cellulite, the causes and prevention, and ultimately, the cure.

Unlike the other cellulite books on the market this one is written by the foremost authority in the U.S. on the subject. Dr. Lionel Bissoon brought the cellulite cure from France to the U.S.

His consistent results are a combination of both his technique and his proprietary solutions--which many have tried to copy. He's had success with hundreds of ordinary men and women as well as celebrities. (Yes, men get cellulite too as I learned in the book! Who knew?).

What I was most interested in was getting rid of my saddlebags and rejuvenating my face. I'm 51 so those sagging jowls, droopy eyelids and the beginning of a double chin, made me look just plain tired. I wanted to look as joyful, vibrant and radiant as I feel. So when I went in for a treatment for my face Dr. Bissoon used Mesotherapy, to inject a combination of vitamins, minerals and homeopathy under the "meso" or middle layer of the skin.

Oh, and did I mention that my saddlebags are gone? All thanks to Dr. Bissoon. And BTW I haven't used Western medicine in 30 years so I didn't want anything fake or harmful put into my system or under my skin. I also loved the fact that the treatments are GOOD for me and stimulate my own collagen so instead of aging I'm getting more youthful.

Anyway, reading the book got me interested in how French women maintain their sleek figures and gorgeous good looks. The secret? Mesotherapy. They start getting these face and body treatments in their 30s so their cellulite diminishes and their wrinkles fade. But if you're like me (well past 30) you can still have cellulite (and saddlebag) free legs, buttocks, stomach, arms etc. and get the youthful overall glow the French women are so famous for. Plus, you don't need to be famous or a celebrity to look just as good."

"Creative layout, encouraging information, thoughtfully presented easy reading. This book sheds positive light on a subject most women hate to aknowledge but are always seeking a sure cure for. The Cellulite Cure offers an indepth explaination of what cellulite is and why our bodies are producing it....and that its NOT OUR FAULT. Women who seek information on this subject should read this book before committing to surgery or other treatment because the good news is there is a potential cure which the author is an integral part of. By writing this book, Dr. Bissoon has made us privy to information on treatment that the weathly and beautiful have made discrete trips to Europe for- until now!! Dr. Bissoon has courageously brought the knowledge/discipline of Mesotheropy with him from France-and offers through this book and his practice a real possibility for many women to finally rid themselves of cellulite. The fact that there is a potential for real relief/cure from this unsightly and demoralizing condition is hopeful in and of itself. The fact that its attainable treatment now here in the U.S., in my opinion, makes it very worthy of exploration for any one who is watching their body go into "meltdown". Reading the book is the first step toward understanding what is actually happening to you and why -thus an empowerment tool toward making informed decissions about treatment."

"If I had known that the purpose of this book was to sell MesoTherapy services, I would not have purchased it. The before and after photos look impressive. Having had first-hand experience with mesotherapy, it is my opinion that the results portrayed are not typical. Also, mesotherapy does not work well for people who have previously had liposuction. If you are interested in investing in mesotherapy, proceed with caution and be sure to obtain references that you can speak directly with. Do not rely on photos exclusively."

"Dr. Bissoon's The Cellulite Cure has very good, scientific information on how and why 90% of women have cellulite. It is an easy read with lots of before and after photos and includes many ways to cure cellulite which the best is mesotherapy. I had an appointment with him and his assistant last week, and I cannot wait to have my first mesotherapy session later this summer. He is extremely friendly and professional and has a true passion for curing cellulite! I recommend his book as well as an appointment with him to all women who suffer from this terrible condition. Enjoy! "
