"I admit that I did not read this entire book. I found so many errors in what I did read that I did not want to continue for fear of learning incorrect information without realizing it.
Some errors I found are as follows:
Page 3: "The dorsal aspect of the foot is the back or sole of the foot." Ask any doctor, look in any medical dictionary, or check out any picture of foot anatomy. The dorsal aspect of the foot is the back or top of the foot, not the sole of the foot. The sole of the foot is the plantar or volar aspect.
Page 4: "For example, the hand is proximal to the wrist." No. The hand is not proximal to the wrist. The hand is distal to the wrist, and the wrist is proximal to the hand.
Page 37: "sonagram" The correct spelling is "sonogram."
Page 106: "peroneus logus" The correct spelling is "longus."
Page 4: The book lists the appendix as being found in both the abdominal and pelvic cavities. However, it is only found in the pelvic cavity.
Page 36: "A malignant tumor or cancer is when cells move rapidly from one place to another. This process is called metastases." The correct term here would be "metastasis."
If you are taking a course that uses this book as its textbook, please make sure the instructor knows enough about anatomy to be able to find all the errors for you."
