ABOUT THE BOOK
This workbook, updated for use with the fifth edition of the "Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association", is designed to help students to improve their writing skills. The resource contains groups of instructional exercises on various aspects and features of the "Publication Manual", including references and citations, grammar, headings, serialization, statistical and mathematical copy, italics and capitalization, numbers style, and table formatting. The workbook can be used as a learning module for the classroom or for independent study.
"Was told to buy this by advisor when starting grad school. Should have purchased the APA Manual instead. This book is confusing and often refers to the Manual. "

"I purchased this workbook for my graduate students. It has helped most of them become familiar with what they need to know about APA, and exposed them to aspects of APA they would not normally care about. They all say it is a lifesaver."

"APA style is a bear to learn using only the Publication Manual. This training guide teaches by doing not just by reading. You can read all about verb subject agreement, anthropomorphism, or how to cite an article with more than three authors until the end of time and still not understand what it means. Use this guide, and it really does begin to make sense. Buy this book. You won't regret it!!"

"The APA Manual provides all that you need - don't bother with this unless you have never written a paper before in your life."

"I do not recommend this book unless you have no clue about APA. If, you are somewhat familiar with using APA style in your research papers, do not bother to purchase it. You can glean the same information from the actual 5th ed. of the APA manual. Check with your reference librarian at you college or university. They may be able to provide you with handouts that may actually be more useful. Therefore, I did not find this book user friendly."
