"Okay, I'm a jerk - I admit it. I went 30 days eating only raw food to give me something to complain about in a blog. I did absolutely no preparation prior, and the night before starting, I picked up this book. I expected disaster - I wanted disaster - disaster makes for colorful blogging. What I got instead was 30 days of great food. This book is easy, it's accessible to uncooperative, it didn't require a bunch of specialized tools (a food processor is required), and the food is actually good. The raw marinara sauce is unbelievably good.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone - raw foodist or not. You'll actually use this one."

"I purchased the "...Idiot's Guide to Eating Raw". While the publication is very informative and yes it does provide a transitioning guide, much of the food for transitioning requires dehydration. This publication keeps you from starving during the hours or days of dehydrating other foods. The meals in it are quick and delicious. The breakfast section was a huge success at my house. Please give the Muesli a try--Yummo!! (Rachel Ray side of me). If you're new to eating raw, I suggest you purchase this publication."

"I was going to go on about how much I love this book, but the following points speak for themselves: This is why the book is GREAT!
1.) It really is fast and easy and fits the "on the go" lifestyle perfectly(I can easily make dinner with dessert after an 11 hour day)
2.) The recipe pages have the recipes as well as alternative recipes. This is in case you are not completely satisfied with the recipe and want to change it a bit(with page numbers).
3.) The recipes all tell you how long the finished food will keep in you fridge or freezer. (My personal favorite, since I never know how long the food will last before it starts to spoil)
4.) If an ingredient in your recipe has to be made, the page number of that recipe is supplied in the recipe itself. This makes it easier to find.
4.) The recipes really are delicious. Even though some look plain, the end result always surprises you."

"I love this book! I was attracted to the simplicity of preparation and the nutritional benefits of raw foods. I noticed that "raw food" was some kind of concept or entity a few months ago and was immediately fascinated - no dealing with a hot oven or stove, no heavy greasy pans, delicious ways to eat more vegetables and get more nutrients, no worries about heat destroying nutrients, and NO POTS AND PANS TO CLEAN!
Cornbleet made this book easy to read (good layout with good use of white space), lots of enticing photos, extremely clear and concise instructions, and with individuals or couples in mind (recipes are for 1 or 2 people).
I am having a great time making raw marinara sauce (my carnivorous hunter husband says it is the best marinara sauce he's tasted), walnut pate (so delicious!), almond cream, key lime pie, and green smoothies - all from this book. I love not having to heat anything. I am also making traditional dishes the raw "way" (no heating) and substituting beans or tofu (not considered raw) because it's so easy and far more flavorful!
If I had known about this way of eating when I moved into my first apartment, I could have had a blender and a food processor and just bought lots of fresh fruits, veggies, seeds, nuts, oils, maybe some bread and yogurt, but you get the picture - minimal appliances, minimal mess, and maximum space, nutrition, and energy.
This book has simple recipes that make preparing and eating your raw vegetables and fruits truly easy, pleasurable, and delicious. None of the recipes require a dehydrator. A few of the other raw food books radiate "Hey, look at me, I'm a really cool yuppie bohemian in a cool boho location whose social life revolves around raw foods and cool friends with plenty of expendable income and time" but this one is not; the focus is on the food. Raw Food Made Easy is a simple, no nonsense, inexpensive approach to making foods (that we already eat raw) infinitely more interesting and satisfying. I can't recommend this book enough. The Boutenkos are also excellent resources for raw foods."

"I bought this book along with the DVD and they are both very informative. Especially for people starting out, this book is an easy way to get on the path to raw foods. I found the transition from cooked food to raw fairly easy..things that I crave ie. chocolate and cheese can easily be made to taste like the real thing or better! I would also recommend reading "12 Steps to Raw Foods" by Victoria Boutenko. It is such an informative, interesting read on a familys quest to eating 100% raw foods. Another great book is "The Raw Life and "Raw Knowledge" by Paul Nison. These two books are really what got me sparked on the raw food life. Incredibly informative and I learned things about cooked food that made me swear I would never return to eating it! Paul Nison also includes many interviews from raw fooders and raw food icons such as Viktoras Kulvinskas, co-founder of the Hippocrates Health Institute (formed with Ann Wigmore) and Gabriel Cousins(founder of the Tree of Life Rejuventation Centre) and author of "Conscious Eating" (A MUST READ!)
Raw food has changed my life in so many positive ways. Best wishes to all for choosing to explore this wonderful journey!"
