ABOUT THE BOOK
Melody Beattie's Gratitude is an antidote to today's harried lifestyle. Beautifully illustrated and ideal for gift-giving, Gratitude encourages readers to reconnect with what's truly important in life, the everyday blessings that are ever-present and ever-sustaining.
Featuring stirring passages from More Language of Letting Go, Beattie's best-selling book of daily affirmations, Gratitude inspires readers to be thankful for everything in their lives—whether they feel grateful or not.
An attitude of gratitude transforms everyday disappointments and frustrations, Beattie explains. A sense of gratitude provides valuable perspective when facing problems. And above all else, a sense of gratitude helps us truly recognize the presence of a Higher Power in our lives.
"I have loved Melody Beatties' books for over 15 years now and thought this would be no exception. While some of the readings are thought provoking and good, some of them are nothing more than a quote or one sentence long. The biggest disappointment to me was that I thought that the inside of the book was going to be filled with colorful illustrations as the back of the book said "the colorful pages in this book", and in the description above it says "beautifully illustrated"...... the only thing colorful at all in this tiny 5 & 1/4 inch book is the front cover. The inside of this book isn't even on regular paper. It's like coloring book paper and I really feel cheated! Maybe THAT'S how you get color.... color on the coloring book paper pages and make color yourself! There is NO color on the inside either.... there are some extremely faint markings in places scattered through the book and sometimes the readings are encased in a square or the one liners are encased in a circle, I'm sure to make you feel like you aren't just getting a one liner. Example.... one whole page has written on it "God, thanks for everything just as it is."
I'll stick to the old books, I guess. I was so excited to see that she had a new book out, but this is not even close to what I expected from the descriptions and from Melody Beattie. "
